Chad Magleby was recognized today by the National Association of Home Builders as the 2015 Custom Builder of the Year. This prestigious award recognizes the best of the best in custom home building. Chad was gracious as he accepted this award at the NAHB International Builder’s Show. Chad is the youngest recipient of the award since it began in 2006.
The NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) is just days away and many of our Magleby employees will be attending. IBS is the largest annual light construction show in the world, every year attracting 50,000 visitors from more than 100 countries. Attendees have an opportunity to see new products, mingle with many other colleagues in the same field, attend construction related courses, or even teach a course. Visit http://buildersshow.com/Home/ for more information.
The Beat the Boss Challenge wrapped up at the end of April and those participants that finished strong in the month of April were given a chance to win a FitBit in the monthly drawing. Luck smiled upon Mike at our last Safety Meeting and he won the FitBit. Not only that, but in a battle of whits in a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors Mike found himself in the top three finalists. The final determinant for the grand prize of a week’s paid vacation and a cruise was who out of the three finalists had the higher percentage of body fat lost from the beginning of the challenge. Once again, Mike pulled out on top. Congratulations to Mike Priday!! Great job to all participants that achieved a healthier lifestyle.
Thursday, May 21st, is the May Employee Enrichment class of Photography 101. Matt Palmer will be instructing the class on how to take the best photos from your cell phone. If you bring a camera, he can let you know some basics on photo taking with your camera. The class will be in the training room of the office starting at 7pm until 9pm.
Please contact Nicole Evans by Tuesday, May 19th to sign up for the course. firstname.lastname@example.org.
Congratulations to two of our employee spouses – Katrina Rasmussen and Stephanie Ashby – for winning the March Beat the Boss drawings. Katrina won a gift card to Ruth’s Chris and Stephanie won a FitBit to help her continue on her journey for health. This challenge has been great to be able to include spouses/significant others of the employees. It’s important for everyone to strive to be more healthy.
Chad also provided an opportunity for three of the Beat the Boss contestants that fell short of beating him in the water consumption for March to beat him in a chug off during the Safety Meeting. Marco Arana, Joe Hudson and Paul Ashby each took a gallon of water against Chad to see who could drink the most of the gallon in 30 seconds. Chad awarded each of them their names be entered in the drawing for March prizes another time. Sadly, none of them won the drawings, but it was all in good fun.
Congratulations to Kyle Simons for being selected by his coworkers as Employee of the Month for April! Kyle fulfills the Magleby standards by being “passionate about doing things right the first time.” (quality) He has organized and created the new group of Communities. He is pushed to the edge, but is a steady leader, with two challenging Parade of Homes in the works. Through it all he always puts up a positive voice. Keep up the good work Kyle!!
Jennifer Schwab is our February Employee of the Month.
